Diani House sits in 5 acres of lovely bushy grounds which are home to a variety of wildlife – from tiny shy tsuni antelope to entertaining troupes of Colobus and Sykes monkeys. Expansive gardens and shady lawns lead down past the huge swimming pool, sunbeds, makuti-thatched pergola and boules pitch to over 200 metres of seafrontage and the wonderful white sands of Diani Beach.

While the house is just 5 minutes by car from the Diani/Ukunda airstrip and close to all the many local attractions, shops, bars and restaurants, it is also – unlike many nearby beachfront properties – completely private, peaceful and secluded.

“We spent one of the best vacations ever in Diani House. The property is beautiful and well- maintained, and the service and food are to die for! Everything is prepared with a very personal and artistic touch. We can’t wait to come back.”

There are three spacious ensuite bedrooms in the main house – one with air-conditioning, the others with ceiling or standing fans. The separate ‘honeymoon’ cottage contains another bedroom and bathroom, and the nearby ‘family cottage’ has two double bedrooms and one bathroom.

The accommodation – a combination of Swahili and colonial styles – is traditional, tasteful, spacious and comfortable. Each bedroom has its own terrace or veranda, and the bathrooms come supplied with lovely Cinnabar Green toiletries.

The size of the property and grounds, together with the various different bedroom suites and dining and living areas means that the accommodation is very flexible, and different families or groups can be accommodated at the same time without intruding on each other’s privacy. The entire property can also be rented exclusively on a full-board or ‘self catering’ basis.

The house is expertly run by husband and wife team Ludo and Angie – friendly, experienced and discretely attentive, they and the large team of helpful staff will do all they can to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Angie and Ludo know Diani very well and can advise on and help organise all kinds of excursions and activities for you during your stay.

“A little piece of heaven on the blue green Indian Ocean! The house is run by Angie and her husband Ludo – an amazingly dynamic and accommodating duo. Angie has worked as a chef is Paris, which shows in the beautifully-prepared meals. The staff are very helpful and cheerful and will cater to your every need.  I can’t recommend it more! “

Special mention must be made of the truly exceptional cooking at Diani House – their fresh seafood, inventive salads and delicious pre-dinner bitings are superb and plentiful, and we recommend that guests take advantage of the delicious, excellent-value, full-board tariff. Meals can be eaten inside the house in the Dining Room, on one of the outside verandas or in the garden pergola.

Massages and beauty treatments are available at the house, and if you can tear yourself away from sunbed or pool there are all kinds of beach activities and sports available nearby – from glass-bottomed boat trips and snorkelling on the reef to camel rides, golf, skydiving and kite surfing.

Diani House also has its own fishing boat, water sports equipment and deep-sea fishing tackle – guests can enjoy fishing for billfish, tuna or kingfish, dawn dolphin spotting, snorkelling the coral gardens of the offshore reefs, sundowner cruises, beach barbeques on deserted islands or exploring  forgotten creeks and ancient forests along the coast.

“If you are looking for a quiet place by the beach with attentive but discrete service, incredibly friendly management, the most excellent food, a beautiful garden with visits by Colobus monkeys and tiny antelope, an almost deserted white coral sand beach, and really want to just unwind and catch up on rest, then Diani House is the place for you. I can’t recommend it highly enough”

“A fantastic location, a great chef, and Ludo and Angie are wonderful hosts. The accommodation overlooks the beach, with white sands, warm water, a short swim out to the coral reef and lots of water sports to keep both the kids and the adults happy.   It’s just a short walk away from one of the famous beach bars of Diani – Forty Thieves – but far enough away to be quiet and secluded.  All-in-all a fantastic retreat and we plan to go back again soon.”

The setting is beautiful and peaceful. The ocean was amazing, and at low tide you can walk out to the reef.  All sorts of water sports  can all be arranged by the house at reasonable prices. Also, a big plus is that it’s only 5 minutes from Ukunda airport.  Everything you need is at Diani House – I can’t recommend it more! “

“It’s taken us 2.5 years to make it to the coast of Kenya from Nairobi, and after 4 days at Diani House, we were kicking ourselves that we had not made it much, much earlier – and already planning our return trip here.  We booked the whole house with friends  and had a simply magical time. What makes it so great?  The location is fantastic – 10 minutes from Ukunda airstrip, so no long drives. You can walk from the house right down to the beach (just 50 metres), yet because of the layout you feel very private and there’s certainly no gawking from beach boys.  About 200 m up the beach is a laid-back bar – perfect for those late afternoon walks that end in a beer. The house is super comfortable -It’s hot here – so the ceiling fans make the nights very comfortable. Ever thing was very clean, the beds were huge and comfortable.  The pool was wonderful and the beach is sublime – white, powdery sand, super clean and a great mix of calm, pond like moments with afternoon waves that will suit a boogie-boarding beginner. The food and service – nothing was too much trouble, including requests for chocolate ice-cream at breakfast!  Every day was a seafood feast.  Kids were well catered for with really sensibly thought- out alternatives for each meal. Angie and her team looked after us as though we were family. Thank you!”
